Meet the artist

Hi, I'm Jem!

I'm 7 years old and I'm in Year 3 at school. I LOVE having fun — and drawing and painting is one of the most fun things ever. When I'm not making pictures, I'm probably listening to my daddy's poems or eating ice cream. Sometimes both at the same time!

The Boy That Loves to Laugh

Now this is a story and the truth be told.
It all starts with a boy, barely 5 months old.
I’ll tell you this story on his behalf,
The story of a boy who loves to laugh,
Now this young fellow is full of joy.
That’s not always found in your average boy.
He starts with a smile that’s where it begins,
then before you know it he breaks out the grins.
Next there’s a chuckle which would always amuse
and you know more is coming
as we’ve now lit the fuse.

A giggle is next, we’re about to ignite
into full hearted laughter, it’s a beautiful sight
and it is so infectious
you have to join in.
Then before you know it
you too have a grin
and you feel really happy
and your eyes open wide
and your cheeks go all red
and you feel warm inside.
So, remember this boy, it’s the best way to be.
What’s his name you may ask? That will be Jem-Bertie.
